Read Time:1 Minute, 33 Second

Despite the ups and downs that COVID and hybrid learning has brought us, the administrative and custodial staff, along with our ensemble directors, Mrs. Boyan, Mr. Price, and Mr. Vallies, worked hard to make sure that members of the band ensembles would be able to showcase their work that spanned the year.

On a warm, sunny, Spring day, students of the Freshmen, combined symphonic and wind bands, jazz bands, and bell choir gathered with their various instruments, excited to be finally playing as a whole group. Luckily, the bands were able to hold their performance on the turf while parents and audience members sat on the bleachers. And, in case you missed the concert, feel free to take a look at some of the photos captured below. Stay tuned to the end for some answers to some of your burning questions about all things music!

Getting ready and warming up…

Show time!

Captured in the moment…

Q & A with the Band & Choir Staff:

What has been the hardest part about morning ensemble this year? (this can be aspects of hybrid, all virtual, or even transitioning to all person learning)

Are there any rewarding parts or silver linings you see within this new mode of learning?

What is one thing that you wished you knew sooner while teaching band virtually, or anything you wish you could do differently?

What is your favorite moment from this year?

How did you come up with teaching plans and methods for online instruction? Any secrets you have to share?

Lastly: what is the situation with Disney next year/plans you have moving forward for future band/choral members?
