“The water’s getting colder, let me in your ocean, swim” -Chase Atlantic, Swim
Chase Atlantic is a band whose members are Mitchel Cave, Clinton Cave, and Christian Anthony. They hail from Queendsland, Australia and first started the band in the year 2014. Their music is classified as alternative R&B. If you have heard of them, you may know their most notorious song Swim. If you have not heard of them, they are a very underground band that deserves more recognition and I highly recommend them. I think they should be more popular than they are, as their songs are diverse and should appeal to a broad population.
CHASE ATLANTIC ALBUM 2017
Swim was produced in 2017 from their self naming album Chase Atlantic. Within this album, there are many other songs, including Into It, Cassie, The Walls, Dancer in the Dark, Consume, Triggered, Ozone, Keep It Up, Angeline, Okay, 23, Drugs and Money – New Mix, and Uncomfortable. The album has a variety of songs ranging from faster paced songs to slower songs.
My favorite songs from this album are Swim, Into it, The Walls, Okay, Drugs and Money. Over the summer, I was lucky enough to see all of these songs live. I went to one of their concerts at the end of July 2022, and it was a breathtaking experience.
DON’T TRY THIS ALBUM 2019
My favorite songs from this album are What U Call That and Like A Rockstar.
What U Call That starts off slow and then progressively speeds up a little bit. I really like the lyrics from this song.

Later in this song, Christian Anthony, who doesn’t make an appearance much, sings a verse, which is unusual since Christian Anthony usually plays the instruments only. He sings the verse
“Smile and see the gold teeth. Gold rings on my fingers make your face bleed.”
Like a Rockstar is also another phenomenal song. These lyrics address taking risks, and having a carefree approach to life. The lyrics emphasize the importance of letting go a little and enjoying life. I feel like many teenagers may be able to relate to the lyrics in the song and embrace the words.

This is a great album. Other songs in this short album include You Too, Devilish, GreenGreenGreen, and Lust.
Phases 2019 album
The album Phases was released in 2019. It has a purple album cover with a spaceman on it. This album is different. This first song is just instrumental; there are no lyrics.
After this song, appropriately titled Intro, there is a smooth transition into the song Angels. After that, the album includes Phases, Love is (not) Easy, Her, No Rainbow, Heaven and Back, Stuckinmybrain, Even Though I’m Depressed, Too Late, I Never Existed, and I Don’t Like Darkness.
I really like the song “Heaven and Back.” It is upbeat, and the lyrics are somewhat elegant.

This song has a trumpet component to it which perfectly complements lead singer Mitchel Cave’s voice.
Beauty in Death Deluxe Edition Album 2022
The Beauty in Death Deluxe Album is their most recent album. In 2021, Chase Atalntic released a shorter version called Beauty in Death. There are more songs included in the Beauty and Death Deluxe Edition Album. In the Beauty and Death Deluxe Album, songs include Paranoid, Pleasexanny, Out the Roof, Slide, Beauty in Death, Please Stand By, Aleyuh, Molly, Call Me Back, I Think I’m Lost Again, Empty, Wasted, Stranger Things, Ohmami, Chxse, Escort, Cold Nights, and Ohmami with Maggie Lindemann. All of these songs are amazing and I can’t choose a favorite one. They are all different in their own way. Some have trumpet components, a few have a faster beat, and a few are slower.

These songs are just the most recent ones, however, there are still older songs such as Friends and Slow Down from other albums. For example, one of Chase Atlantic’s oldest albums is Dalliance which was released in 2014.
Concert
Over the past summer, I was fortunate enough to attend one of their concerts titled Cold Nights Tour. The concert was at the end of July in New York City at Pier 17, South Street Seaport. Chase Atlantic did not open immediately. Instead, first it was Xavier Mayne who appears in one of Chase Atlantic’s songs. Few people had heard of Xavier Mayne’s songs. After that, Leah Kate performed. I had heard of this singer previously, however, I was not into any of her songs. After Leah Kate, the lights progressively got dimmer and then everyone got quiet. The screens turned on and Chase Atlantic’s intro started. The crowd went wild. After this intro, the first song that was played was Stranger Things. The other songs that followed were Beauty in Death, What U Call That, Too Late, Drugs & Money, Ohmami, Swim, Paranoid, Cold Nights, The Walls, Like a Rockstar, Into it, Slow Down, Slide, Wasted, and finally, Out the Roof. I was so excited for my concert and was overjoyed that I saw a few of my favorite songs over the summer. I hope to go to another Chase Atlantic concert in the future.
If you are looking for a new type of music, I would definitely look into this group. It is not as well known as some other groups, but I personally really enjoy it. If it seems like you would like these songs or this type of music, I would definitely chase Chase Atlantic.
