Hello Mountaineer Gang! If you are new to the Mountaineer, then go read my old issues of the Christmas Edition of the Mountaineer because I love Christmas. Christmas is my favorite holiday, even though I don’t technically celebrate Christmas… It is the SUPERIOR holiday because there is literally no other holiday where this many people are happy. And Mountain Lakes has been feeling the joy 🙂
Deck the Halls
First of all, we had our Christmas Tree Lighting last Sunday and we had our very own Santa Claus travel around town spreading his Christmas joy!
Next up, the SGA took to the halls and decorated the hallways with lights and ornaments! Just a PSA, please do not touch the lights or any of the decorations! Also, if you are tall, the SGA would really appreciate it if you would duck a little bit 🙂
BUT, WAIT. To those who are saying that this article is not inclusive to other holidays, YOU ARE WRONG. We made a whole new separate article talking about Hanukkah (click here to read!) and I even put a picture of Mr. Ziccardi’s Festivus pole because festivus for the rest of us! For those of you that are uncultured, Festivus is where you “air your grievances” or complain about other people. And if you see Mr. Ziccardi near this pole, run. Otherwise, he’ll just start YELLING, and I say that in all-caps because Mr. Ziccardi yelling is an all-caps kind of yell…
Winter Checklist
Now, this article is filled with things that happen almost every year, but I will be including a checklist of things you can do during your winter break because I will be spending my break applying to colleges (because I hate myself) so please live out my Christmas dreams!
Watch Frozen 2
I know everyone hates Frozen, but Frozen 2 was so much better than the original, and if you think otherwise, we have beef. Don’t make eye contact with me in the hall.
Make those Pillsbury cookies
These cookies are the singular best cookies ever created, and I stand by that. Plus, they have reindeer ones and Christmas trees, which are super festive! They also have snowmen ones, but I have never seen those and I’m convinced they don’t exist, so if you do see them in the stores, please send me some so I can die happy.
Sneak hot chocolate into the movie theaters
If you know me, you know I love sneaking food into movie theaters. It’s SO MUCH FUN. The more food you sneak in, the most hearty your feast. My partner-in-crime, Erin Shannon, and I will be trying to sneak in hot chocolate and those aforementioned Pillsbury cookies in the theaters this break so I encourage you to do the same! While hot chocolate is my newest festive goal for the season, you can totally sneak in other food! My personal favorite is sneaking in ice cream.
So what kind of hot chocolate are we thinking of? You could go with your regular Swiss Miss, or if you are feeling fancy, those sticks of hot chocolate, but I would recommend one of the Starbucks holiday drinks, like the Caramel Brûlée Latte, or one of Dunkin’s new holiday drinks.
Buy Christmas pajamas
I know that the standard Christmas attire is an ugly sweater, but if you want to bring your Christmas attire to the next level, you buy Christmas pajamas to wear WITH your sweater, so you really look like a fashion monstrosity.
Wrap some presents
This is just a reminder, but wrapping your presents can just make your amazing presents THAT much better because people can see how much effort you put in and holiday wrapping paper is so god-dang cute!
Write some resolutions
New Years is just around the corner, so make sure you have all of your resolutions for the next year all-set! If you need any help, consult one of the other Mountaineer articles we have!
Listen to my BANGIN Christmas playlist
I will link my Spotify because my Christmas playlist is so flames. Every other Christmas playlist is trash. Listen to my playlist.
In the spirit of Christmas, for my last Christmas Mountaineer edition, I want to say thank you to everyone who has read all of my bad Christmas jokes. This is officially my last Christmas article and I’m a little bit sad writing this, but I just wanted to take the time and personally thank each and every one of you. You all are amazing people and happy holidays 🙂
