Do you like food and entertainment? Wait, let me rephrase that. Do you like free food and sensational, awe-inspiring, and utterly breathtaking free entertainment? Well, chances are you were at International Night.
On Monday, April 22, the MLHS Key Club held the third annual International Night. Over 20 restaurants and 17 families donated food from cuisines around the world, making for a very eclectic and slightly overwhelming buffet.
There were fantastic performances by MLHS’s very own ML Transit Authority, Tommy Went to College, and the Jazz Band.
Many clubs came to advertise themselves or sell products: the Young Democrats Club sold reusable straws to spread awareness about the detrimental effects of plastic straws on the environment, and Alex’s Lemonade Stand sold their famous, charitable lemonade. Also, quite a few clubs made their debut at International Night including the DECA Club and the UNICEF Club, both of which will be starting in the ’19-’20 school year.
At the end of the night, Key Club raised over $600, all of which will be donated to the NJ Federation of Food Banks, a great cause that gives over 300,000 people access to healthy food. All in all, this year was a huge success, and hopefully, next year will be too!
