As you all know, this seemingly eternal January is finally coming to a close, and with that brings the onslaught of the Valentines craze upon us. With that comes a season enshrouded in romance, friendship, laughter, loneliness, and, of course, that reddish haze that overtakes us all. The Valentines season is a time to shower our loved ones with affection, whether they be our respective friends, teachers, parents or amorous interests; we give thanks to the indispensable individuals in our lives, and let them know we care.

One of the simplest ways of showing appreciation is by slipping your loved ones a little something special, like a card, flower, or some of their favorite sweets- even the smallest display of appreciation can truly make someone’s day. Although we all realize the tribunals of finding the perfect little something to give on Valentines Day, from choosing the item, to searching for the ideal moment to gift it, or to slyly slip it into their locker, it can be quite stressful. As high school students, we’re all already weighed down by our numerous assignments and exams, not to mention the all-consuming sports and theatrics we participate in outside of school.

To try and lessen a bit of this burden from your shoulders, every year MLHS key clubs hosts a Valentines sale. We’ll be having a table set up outside of the cafeteria from February 4th to February 12th (periods 3 through 9)  equipped to sell ready-to-go candy grams, valentines, and chocolate roses. Not to mention that balloons and real roses will be available to preorder as well.  Everyone deserves to feel appreciated, so let’s work together to make this year’s Valentine’s Day outstanding!

*Purchased items will be delivered to the recipient’s locker on the morning of February 13th.
