As warmer weather approaches, jean shorts come out of the closet and the stuffy sweaters get shoved away, but don’t just wear plain denim. Try and make your jean shorts unique with patterns, patches, or lace. Since my shorts have pops of color I wore a white shirt to make the shorts the focus of my outfit. If you’re putting on a baggy shirt don’t just throw it on and call it a day! There are many ways to style baggy white Ts to make the outfit really pop.

The first picture shows how not styling your t-shirt can look unflattering. In the second picture, I tied the t-shirt in a knot where I wanted to crop it. This way it adds style and now you can see my shorts.

The second and third pic demonstrate two different types of tucks. The first tuck, shown in the third picture, is called a French Tuck, or a Half Tuck. To make this just tuck the front part of your shirt into your pants but leave the sides and back out.

The last picture demonstrates a bra tuck. Just like the French tuck only the front part of the shirt is tucked in. Simply take the bottom of your t-shirt and tuck it under your bra. It leaves your shirt a little smoother than the French tuck and gives it the appearance of being cropped.

One of my favorite outfits is my pair of distressed overalls. However, as the weather gets warmer, they are too heavy to wear, so I swap them out for my overall shorts! I paired these with a burnt orange bodysuit from Garage. I made sure to leave one of the straps undone so the bodysuit does not get completely covered by the overalls.

Spring is here and Spring means flowers! I styled a basic spring outfit with cute, white shorts. They are a little ruffled with pastel flowers. I accompanied the shorts with an olive tank top that I tied in a knot to contrast it with the loose flowy shorts.

When styling an outfit it is always good to keep contrast in mind. If wearing pants or a skirt that are not too tight, try pairing them with a bodysuit or a shirt that is form-fitting. The contrast from tight to flowy really helps elevate an outfit.

Spring is my favorite season because of the flowers and trees that begin to sprout and bloom. Another great thing about Spring is that you can begin to wear dresses and cute sandals outside.

For this outfit, I styled one of my sister’s flowy white dresses from American Eagle (thank you Carla) with black platform sandals from Nasty Gal. The light color of the dress and the smattering of blue flowers make the outfit look lighter and more summer-ish.

To bring out springtime in this outfit, I wore a pair of floral embroidered jeans from American Eagle with a white scallop-edged tank top and a pair of black Birkenstocks. The jeans were really easy to DIY. I simply bought floral patches on Amazon and then glued and stitched them onto my jeans.

This outfit has spring written all over it because it includes sandals and a tank top for warm weather, but you can throw on a sweater or cardigan to stop from freezing your butt off while at our extremely cold school.

Something that makes me feel like I am wearing a Spring outfit is wearing light colors. However, my closet tends to have darker items of clothing, so I tried to keep that in mind while styling this outfit.

I wore a black tight Jersey pencil skirt from H&M with a grey laced cropped t-shirt, also from H&M. To add a pop of color to the outfit I wore my yellow Old-Skool Vans. A similar outfit could also be styled by changing the skirt for black (or dark colored) shorts or changing the shirt to another light color. The most important aspect of this outfit, in my opinion, is the yellow Vans since they bring in the necessary color for it to be a Spring outfit.
