As the weather gets warmer, the styles start to change. Everyone has packed away their winter jackets, after the final April snowstorm, so everyone is pulling out their most fashionable summer clothes. Take a look to see how people in Mountain Lakes High School are embracing the warm weather!

Outfit #1

While the weather calls for a transition from many to few layers, sweatshirts are a great option. If you’re going out, though, you don’t have to throw on that old sweatshirt you found at the bottom of your closet–make your sweatshirt a part of your outfit! In this look I wore light, ripped jean shorts and a black bodysuit. Bodysuits are becoming popular again; they first debuted in the 1960’s and were super popular in the 90’s. Over this, I wore a cropped red sweatshirt and a matching bow to tie the whole look together.

Outfit #2

Anyone who has a class with Mr. Cosgrove knows the pride he takes in his daily preppy outfits. I vividly remember the day before this picture was taken: Mr. Cosgrove wore a green striped shirt and pink pants and a student complimented him on his outfit. He commented that he had the exact opposite planned for tomorrow and, sure enough, he showed up with a pink striped shirt and green pants the next day. There has not been a day this year where Mr. Cosgrove has disappointed us with his outfits, and now that spring is here, he showed us some beautiful spring colors with a light pink button-down and fresh shade of green on his pants.

Outfit #3

Meg Hatton shows us a beautiful spring outfit for the transitioning weather. Her white pants bring lightness to the outfit, while her shirt with ¾-length sleeves make the outfit perfect for a spring day. Meg’s shirt demonstrates ruching, or pleating down the middle of a shirt. The shade of blue is not too dark, and the top, over all, has a great style with so many elements. Paired with nice sandals and light accessories, it is a great outfit for a May school day.

Outfit #4

I am in love with Laura’s pants! Their color, texture, and style, all together, make these spring pants perfect for when it is colder in the mornings and then warmer in the afternoons. The pants are corduroy-textured, but are thinner than usual corduroys, which makes them really comfortable. Also, the pink makes them look springy. On top of this, Laura picked this beautiful, cropped, striped top that ties in the back with a little bow. I think that this top ties in with the pants really well because of the “striped” texture in the pants and the stripes on the shirt. All in all, this outfit is so cute and a perfect outfit for spring time.

Outfit #5

Melissa’s strapless gingham shirt matches really well with her new, classic, checkered slip-on vans. The black leggings make the outfit look really comfortable, and they work in harmony with the printed top and shoes. The jean jacket adds some contrast to the more designer items, yet pulls the whole look together. If there was not that little bit of color in the outfit, it could end up looking a little dull and not as interesting. The jean jacket is also an extremely popular look among girls, right now, and can possibly be seen as a staple in a girl’s closet. Jean jackets have been around since the 1880’s, so it is not surprising that they are so common and popular.
