For a while, I have been thinking: “what’s cuter: big or small dogs?” Now, I have a bias for small dogs because I have one, so I created a Google Form where everyone gave me their answers. Thank you to the 102 who filled out the form. Before that, I want to say a few observations I made while looking at the data. For one thing, the least cute dog is a Chihuahua, with 52.9% yes and 47.1% no. The most popular dog, a Cavapoo Mix, has ratings of 94.1% yes and 5.9% no (see pictures in gallery).

The Result Analysis
To find the most popular size, I averaged the yes and no percentages of both. The big dogs have an average yes: no ratio of 69.42%: 30.58%, and the small dogs have a ratio of 67.24%: 35.73%. This means that, while very close, big dogs are cuter than small dogs. I am classifying a big dog as greater than 25 pounds for this comparison. The reason for this is that most households have a dog over 25 pounds.
According to the Market Research Blog, 68% of households have a big dog, and 48% have a small dog. While these percentages don’t add up, some homes have both small and big dogs which compensates for the difference. This means that the majority have a bias against cute dogs. This would only account for the households that have a dog while some who took it did not have a dog. The reason for those people is that the big dogs are smiling or doing something cute, while the small dogs are not smiling in any photo, and one is giving the stink eye (see gallery). I may also be wrong as some people may not think small dogs are as cute. Overall, there is not a significant difference between the percentages for big and small dogs; therefore, I cannot really have an opinion.
